Be a 21st century human in one day , 100% satisfaction guaranteed

you'll be born today, don't worry you won't be an one-day baby you are in your current age, but without any knowledge, brand new brain even with stronger abilities. Technology is that developed and science is that unified and culture is that known and history is that well shortened, that you can get to learn all of it in some hours, and you have the mental capability to do that.
yes you have to learn how to speak one language, read write, and so on.
one important part is vocabulary, let's say "fear", i think this one would be easy to feel in first day of life, "ownership" hard too explain, lie is easy too learn, but jealousy is not in us , we learn to be jealous by our parents by ownership concept . pride, happiness, success, greed are the other examples . fight can be defined by combination of jealousy and ownership and some other basic things, though it's hard to explain war and killing, it would be a bit easier if it was killing for food, but how can we make them justified.
we created much big big things by our cultures that when i review i see long list of unacceptable illegitimate concepts and actions and actually human-made creatures that i can not handle.

you are right we had good advancement in our medical system. big joke.

An old man's false testimony

now go ahead you, you say anything you like
Why do you think the old man might lie?

I looked at him for a long time
jacket was split under the shoulder did you notice that,
i mean coming to court like that

he was a very old man in a torn jacket

he walked very slowly to the stand

he was dragging his left leg and trying to hide it because he will shamed

I think i know this man better than anyone here.

this is a quite, frightened, insignificant old man, who,
who has been nothing in all his life
who has never had recognition

or his name in newspapers

nobody knows him

nobody quotes him
nobody seeks his advice after 75 years

gentlemen, that's a very sad thing to be nothing
man like this needs to be quoted
to be listen to
to be quoted just once
very important to him
so hard for him to be in background..

ohhhhhhhh wait a minute,
what are you trying to do,tell us he lied to be one of those important ones.

no he wouldn't really lie, but perhaps he made himself believe that.

Pleasure

Pleasure is a result of a decrease in stimuli ( something external that influences an activity),for example, a calm environment the body enters after having been subjected to a hectic environment. If pleasure increases as stimuli decreases, then the ultimate experience of pleasure for Freud would be zero stimulus, or death. Given this proposition, Freud acknowledges the tendency for the unconscious to repeat unpleasurable experiences in order to desensitize, or deaden, the body. This compulsion to repeat unpleasurable experiences explains why traumatic nightmares occur in dreams, as nightmares seem to contradict Freud's earlier conception of dreams purely as a site of pleasure, fantasy, and desire.

Freud believed that humans were driven by two conflicting central desires: the life drive (Eros) (incorporating the sex drive) and the death drive (Thanatos). Freud's description of Eros, whose energy is known as libido, included all creative, life-producing drives. The death drive (or death instinct), whose energy is known as mortido, represented an urge inherent in all living things to return to a state of calm: in other words, an inorganic or dead state.Freud approaches the paradox between the life drives and the death drives by defining pleasure and unpleasure. According to Freud, unpleasure refers to stimulus that the body receives. On the one hand, the life drives promote survival by avoiding extreme unpleasure and any threat to life. On the other hand, the death drive functions simultaneously toward extreme pleasure, which leads to death.

"The goal of all life is death."

Microsoft versus Mozilla, Capital versus who?

This is from isoHunt.com , how does it sound?

Just noticed the tipping point in browser stats for visitors to isoHunt. From Google Analytics:
Code:
Firefox
Sep 18, 2007 - Sep 24, 2007 45.84%
Sep 25, 2007 - Oct 1, 2007 46.19%

Internet Explorer
Sep 18, 2007 - Sep 24, 2007 46.42%
Sep 25, 2007 - Oct 1, 2007 46.07%

Opera
Sep 18, 2007 - Sep 24, 2007 3.89%
Sep 25, 2007 - Oct 1, 2007 3.79%

Safari
Sep 18, 2007 - Sep 24, 2007 2.82%
Sep 25, 2007 - Oct 1, 2007 2.91%

Congrats to the Mozilla Foundation and Firefox team for pulling this off! Firefox users on isoHunt have now overtaken IE users, and I see the trend continuing in more Firefox adoption. The less reliance on standard non-compliant and malware-friendly IE, the better. And while talking about browsers, a note for Firefox and Adblock users: I'd appreciate it if you exclude using Adblock on isoHunt and our other sites (Torrentbox, Podtropolis). We make best efforts in not showing intrusive or abusive ads, I hope you'd return similar courtesy. Our legal cost are mounting and we need the advertising dollars. Thanks

Anyways, it's like having one Dictator versus two or three.

p.s. I'll try to de-active pop-up blocker. maybe it was tolerable?

Cockroach

The oldest winged insect on the face of the earth (between 354–295 million years ago) , was definitely resistant to any and all methods of extermination, from tomato slices with borax to flour and sugar, and with its one thousand six hundred three varieties had raised the most ancient, tenacious, and pitiless persecution that mankind had unleashed against any living thing since the beginnings, including man himself, to such extent that just as an instinct for reproduction was attributed to the mankind , so there must have been another one more definite and pressing, which was the instinct to kill cockroaches, and if the latter had succeeded in escaping human ferocity it was because they had taken refuge in the shadows, where they become invulnerable because of man's congenital fear of the dark ,but on the other hand they became susceptible to the glow of noon , so the only effective method for killing cockroaches was the glare of sun.

Punishment: some old stuff

what is a crime?
what is a punishment?
it seems to vary
from time to time ,

place to place.
what's legal today
is suddenly illegal tomorrow, because some society says it so ,
and what's illegal yesterday
is suddenly legal today
because everybody is doing that,
and you can't put

everybody in jail

I'm not saying this is right or wrong
I'm
just saying that's the way it is

What JOB is best for you?

How to make a decision you won't regret?

There are better ways to make a career

Custom Concern

The custom concern of the people is
Build up monuments and steeples
To wear out our eyes
I get up just about noon
My head sends a message for me
to reach for my shoes and then walk
Gotta go to work, gotta go to work, gotta have a job
Goes through the parking lot fields
Didn't see no signs that they would yield
And then thought, this'll never end
This'll never end, this'll never stop
Message read on the bathroom wall
Said, "I don't feel at all like I fall."
And we're losing all touch, losing all touch

Philippine Culture > Filipino Games(Pinoy Games)

Siato

Participants:
Two players

A small cup-shaped hole should be dug in the ground or soil. Two sticks are also needed: a short and a long one. The short stick should be placed across the center of the hole as if the stick is a bridge connecting two roads that are separated by a cliff or river. The stick can also be placed on two rocks of the same size like a bridge connecting them. This is an alternative if the floor of where the game is going to be played is made of concrete.

The participant should hit the middle of the short stick with a long stick, and while the short stick is in the air, the participant should try to hit it again to as far as it can go, then measure the distance using the long stick as a yardstick. If a participant fails to hit the short stick while it is in the air, then the opponent is declared the winner.

The winner then gets to hit the short stick, starting from the hole, as many times as his or her winnings. The loser has to run from that distance back to the hole, all the while shouting "SIAAATO!" If he or she loses his or her breath while running, the winner hits the small stick again from that point, and the loser has to run and shout again.

Boredom

i felt it today,
i felt what i was always afraid of.
it was scary for me.
it was the most boring life.
everyday comes,
everyday passes,
and you don't understand any difference,
and you do what's been told to you as a normal life,
boring normal life,

i felt it today that abnormal life is nothing but another normal one,
i like it as long as it's life,
i should see it as an exceptional one, otherwise it's the same.
i love life.

Option

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track.

The train is coming, and you are just beside the track interchange. You can make the train change its course to the disused track and save most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?

Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. You might think the same way, I guess. Exactly, I thought the same way initially because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place?

Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was. This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority are, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority are. The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.

Genes and Schizophrenia

Johns Hopkins researchers have genetically engineered the first mouse that models both the anatomical and behavioral defects of schizophrenia, a complex and debilitating brain disorder.

They took advantage of the recent discovery of a major risk factor for this disease: the DISC1 gene (short for disrupted in schizophrenia), which makes a protein that helps nerve cells assume their proper positions in the brain.

As reported online this week in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers generated mice that make an incomplete, shortened form of the DISC1 protein in addition to the regular type. The short form of the protein attaches to the full-length one, disrupting its normal duties.

As these mice matured, they became more agitated when placed in an open field, had trouble finding hidden food, and did not swim as long as regular mice; such behaviors parallel the hyperactivity, smell defects and apathy observed in schizophrenia patients. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed characteristic defects in brain structure, including enlarged lateral ventricles, a region that circulates the spinal fluid and helps protect against physical trauma.

They note that the defects in these mice were not as severe as those typically seen in people with schizophrenia, because more than one gene is required to trigger the clinical disease. "However, this mouse model will help us fill many gaps in schizophrenia research,".

Counterculture

In sociology, counterculture is a term used to describe the values and norms of behavior of a cultural group, or subculture, that run counter to those of the social mainstream of the day, the cultural equivalent of political opposition. Although distinct countercultural undercurrents exist in all societies, here the term counterculture refers to a more significant, visible phenomenon that reaches critical mass and persists for a period of time. A counterculture movement thus expresses the ethos, aspirations and dreams of a specific population during a certain period of time — a social manifestation of zeitgeist(the intellectual and cultural climate of an era.).

Forget the Background

Genetics, wowwwwww

The reduction of the human being to no more than the biological expression of the programme of instructions encoded in his or her DNA will have serious moral consequences on how we look at ourselves.
Determinists are in danger of hunting for the "Cinderella" gene- those particular genes which in isolation pre-determine just about everything from intelligence to homosexuality, free market entrepreneurs and male dominance. if we accept that innate differences and abilities are written in our genes and biologically inherited , then hierarchy is actually encoded in human nature. The world is the way it is because that is exactly how it should be. A proposed scientific explanation thus becomes the instrument for legitimizing the status quo.
